"Promise" Logo

"Promise” Logo is a creation that reflects me. It contains me favorite color green and mixes with a very pale yellow. The featured object is a hand crossing its fingers with the word “Promise” blended in with the outline on one of the crossing fingers. I chose the word promise to focus on because in my mind it means honesty, trust, reliance, and loyalty; all of which are extremely important values in my life. When deciding on where to place “promise” I merged it within the crossing fingers to help intensify the meaning. One thing that I would change is the black outline font, it didn’t allow for the corrections that I wanted to accomplish. Only some of the lines run completely smooth like was intended.

Meeko Sketch

This is a sketch of Meeko, from the Disney movie Pocahontas. Everything was done on a computer using a Wacom Tablet. The Wacom Tablet allowed me to draw with a pen, but everything was transferred onto the computer. While I was drawing I was able to look at a picture of the scene and go from there. Using the tablet was an interesting experience and hard to coordinate my movements to make my sketch turn out as planned. Although it did let me make any easy alterations that I wanted. One of my favorite differences is how intense he looks, in my sketch his facial expression is more focused. The final outcome looks extremely close to the actual scene and I am proud of it.

Architectural Detail Sketch

This sketch is a close up of a “door knocker.” My goal was to make the item standout on a dark background. Color pencil was the perfect media for this project. The colors chosen are from my high school “Shorecrest High School,” the paper color is a darker green. I used yellow as the main fixture color and the white for detailing.

Leaf Variety Sketch

Leaf Variety Sketch" is a random assortment that uses a variety of drawing methods to help show each leaf's originality. This particular view is a section of a larger picture. It was chosen purposely because it shows the most detail and does the best job of drawing the eye.

This sketch is one of my earlier pieces and reflects only a few of the drawing techniques that I have acquired. However I put this in my portfolio because it gives a general idea of where I started and keeps reality in mind . . . skill takes time to develop.

Mountain "Scene" Sketch

Mountain “Scene” Sketch is one of my favorite pieces. It was spontaneous and followed its own guidelines. It reflects a few of my loves in life, nature and creativity. An artistic feature that I like is the balance of color throughout the whole scene. The simplicity of the sketch makes the message all the more important and direct.

When I look at it, I wish I could stand among those mountains surrounded in my own world. This sketch reminds me of reality, everything doesn’t need to be complicated, just take a breath and immerse yourself in your own world. This is my getaway . . .

"Unrecognizable" Quilt Pattern

“Unrecognizable” Quilt Pattern was a fun and intriguing project. It is a design of many different pictures pieced together to become a decorative quilt. There is a catch, each picture put into place in this creative puzzle used to be something completely different. If you look closely you may be able to tell what the picture began as, I highly doubt that however. One picture used to be a waterfall and rocks, another a forest and another a galaxy. The title is Unrecognizable; see if you can figure out what each was originally.
